The KiMe Cure Neurological Disorders (CND) Fund (a.k.a. KiMe Fund) is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's, by funding research.

7th Annual Shakin' Not Stirred Parkinson's Fundraiser was held on Friday May 19, 2017 at the Pavilion at Hunter Valley Farm in Knoxville, TN.

6th Annual Shakin' Not Stirred Parkinson's Fundraiser was held on Saturday April 23, 2017 at the Fox Den Country Club in Knoxville, TN.

 

Grants to Support Research for Parkinson's

On July 12 The KiMe Fund of East Tennessee Foundation (ETF) awarded two (2) grants totaling $92,500 to the following organizations for their ensuing research projects:

Henry Ford Hospital - the recipient of a $67,500 grant to support research exploring distinctive changes in the bodyís metabolism which might lead to a diagnostic test for Parkinsonís Disease.

Van Andel Research Institute - the recipient of a $25,000 grant to support research exploring how to protect the neurons that are most vulnerable to degeneration in Parkinsonís Disease.

Wine Tasting on the Patio was held Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at The Stables at Hunter Valley in Knoxville, TN from 6:00 - 7:30 pm. The event was hosted by CORKS WINE AND SPIRITS.

Driving Toward a Cure for Parkinson's Gala

KiMe Fund was the presenting sponsor at the Driving Toward a Cure for Parkinson's gala on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. at The Dearborn Inn in Dearborn, MI. The event was hosted by the Van Andel Institute.

 

KiMe Fund Wine Tasting on the Patio

The KiMe Fund Wine Tasting on the Patio was held Monday, September 21, 2015, at Pero's on the Hill in Knoxville, TN from 6:30 - 8:30. The event was hosted by Northshore Wine and Spirits.

 

KiMe Fund inducted into VARI Leadership and Legacy Society

Van Andel Research Institute (VARI) inducted the KiMe Fund into its Institute's Leadership & Legacy Society during a formal reception in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Deanna S. Hatmaker, KiMe Advisory Board Vice Chair and Director accepted the award of behalf of the KiMe Fund and its donors.

Grand Rapids’ Van Andel Research Institute (VARI) Center for Neurodegenerative Science (CNS) Donation

On February 9, 2015 — The KiMe Fund announced it has donated $25,000 to Grand Rapids’ Van Andel Research Institute (VARI) Center for Neurodegenerative Science (CNS). The contribution will help fund a breakthrough research initiative currently underway at VARI’s CNS that aims to define the molecular mechanisms of a newly discovered gene that causes inherited Parkinson’s disease.

The KiMe Fund Wine Tasting on the Patio was held Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at Pero's on the Hill in Knoxville, TN. The event was packed to capacity. Shakin' Not Stirred Parkinson's Fundraiser

KiMe Presents $25,000 Check to MJFF

On November 5, 2013, KiMe Founder, Steve Hodges, close friend Charles Garvey, and fellow KiMe Board Members John Campbell, Dr. Michelle Brewer, Marty Gray, Tim Wheeler, and Leslie McDermott met with Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF) representatives Patricia Radford and Haley Askew from New York City. On behalf of the KiMe Board, including Deanna Hatmaker, Jeff Robinette, Eric Brinley, Staci Ferguson, and Joe Siragusa who were unable to attend, and on behalf of all of the KiMe supporters, a $25,000 check was presented to the MJFF to support research focused on the cross sectional examination of cerebrospinal fluid kinetic biomarkers of axonal transport for PD diagnosis and progression. 100% of this donation will go to the designated research with no administrative cost.

Wow! What a night. A great opportunity to discuss the latest research and to share our mutual commitment and passion to find a cure for Parkinsons. A very special thank you to all of our supporters that made this possible!

 

Baking a Difference. During the month of April 2014, The Cup teamed up with the KiMe Fund for the 3rd year in a row to sell cupcakes benefiting the KiMe Fund.

Farragut High School hosted a throwback double-header baseball game on Thursday, April 25, 2013 in support of Project 2020 Parkinson's Fundraising efforts. Donations were collected to benefit the KiMe Fund.  Project 2020 was founded by former Farragut High School baseball player Pat Dorwin who was diagnosed with PD at age 38.  

3rd Annual Shakin' Not Stirred Parkinson's Fundraiser was held April 6, 2013 at the Knoxville Hilton.

Baking a Difference. During the month of March 2013, The Cup teamed up with the KiMe Fund for the 2nd year to sell cupcakes benefiting the KiMe Fund.

2nd Annual Shakin' Not Stirred Parkinson's Fundraiser was held on April 21, 2012 at the historic Maple Grove Inn in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Baking a Difference. During the month of March 2012, The Cup  features cupcakes benefiting the KiMe Fund, ultimately selling 1,236 KiMe cupcakes in 1 month!

First Donation.   After a successful inaugural year, the KiMe Fund made its first donation on February 3, 2012 to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Cole Neuroscience Center. This is the first in what we hope will be a series of donations to multiple organizations throughout the country.

Houston: We Have a Mission Parkinson's Fundraiser was held on November 5, 2011 at the League Civic Center in League City, TX. Special guest speaker was Michael "Rich" Clifford, Former U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel and NASA astronaut. See the brochure for additional details.

Shakin' Not Stirred Parkinson's Fundraiser was held on June 12, 2011 at Cru' Bistro in Knoxville, TN. The fundraiser benefited the KiMe Fund and the University of Tennessee Cole Neuroscience Center, Movement Disorder Clinic. Log onto KiMe's Facebook page for event photos.
